Wizz Air launches nine new routes from Cardiff Airport

If a perenially failing airport like CWL can attract Wizz, then GLA absolutely can. They have huge expansion plans in the UK and if GLA can't land some of that business than the airport will sink further.

It's notable to that all the routes from CWL are bucket and spade - there are no E Europe routes.

Really hope GLA are in discussions with Wizz Air uk! Competitions required for Jet2 that doesn’t seem to be coming from TUI and perhaps it aill give Easyjet the kick required. Ryanair i’m afraid i have little hope other than maintaining what we have.

Ryanair chief explains the one thing they need from Cardiff Airport to introduce more holiday destinations there

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.waleso ... 695923.amp

So here's the Ryanair CEO saying they're open to opening up a base at Cardiff - all they need Is low charges.

This is CWL airport - an airport that's been failing for years. It has nothing like the amount passengers GLA has, serving a city with markedly less inbound foreign visitors as Glasgow, with the same APD, the same brexit and the same COVID - and a large FR base just down the road at BRS - and FR are apparently not worried about any of that, as long as they can get low charges they'd consider CWL!

I think this cuts through all the waffle and suggests what the real problem is at GLA that is preventing FR from basing there!

You should forward that to AGS mate. They're probably blissfully unaware of any of this and also the Wizz planned expansion in the UK. You could give them a heads-up that there's business out there.
