UK new routes for 2023

There are 119 new routes (so far) from the United Kingdom in 2023

Most new routes:
20 - BFS
11 - BHX, LGW
10 - BRS, EMA, EDI
6 - MAN, NQY
5 - LBA, LPL, NCL
4 - LHR, STN
3 - BHD, JER
2 - ABZ, BOH, EXT, GLA, KOI, PIK
1 - CWL, DND, FIE, GCI, LCY, LTN, MME, SOU

- GLA's peer airports like BFS, LBA, LPL and NCL appear to be doing better than GLA in attracting new routes.

- GLA is doing no better at attracting new routes than PIK, a chronically failing airport that many of us believe has no future in pax ops.

- EDI have twice as many new routes as all the AGS airports put together.

I think the new CEO needs to hit the ground running!

GLA certainly well behind the other major regionals, definitely in with minor airports on that list. Let's hope the New Year brings better news, it will be interesting to see if the Herald does an in depth interview with the new man at the top, to get an idea of his priorities and vision for the future.
