AC goes from 6 weekly to daily from S23 according to this article

http://travelweekly.co.uk/news/air/air- ... ummer-2023

Air Canada has expanded two of its services to the UK as it increases its international network for summer 2023

The carrier will expand its Toronto to Heathrow service from three to four daily flights and its Toronto to Edinburgh service from six times a week to daily.

In addition to boosting its UK schedule, the airline has extended routes to major European cities and added new flights to Brussels, Toulouse and Copenhagen from Montreal and Toronto.

Mark Galardo, senior vice-president for network planning and revenue management at Air Canada, said: “Customers can start planning ahead and book with confidence. Toronto-Brussels will complement our current services from Montreal, while further expanding Air Canada’s reach to Europe.

“Our Montreal-Toulouse route not only links two global aerospace centres, but it is also the only year-round service between North America and south-west France.

“We are also increasing our presence in Scandinavia with the addition of summer service from Montreal to Copenhagen, enabling customers on both sides of the Atlantic to visit and explore each other’s countries conveniently.”

Not all good news at EDI though - looks like there will be MCO reductions next 'Spring' according to VS:
Operational Update - 13 October 2022
As customer demand continues to return strongly after the Covid-19 pandemic, we’re making adjustments to upcoming flying schedules to support the ramp up of our operation and to reflect changes in customer demand outlook.

As a result, during the Summer 2023 season, we’ve implemented some changes to service frequencies and aircraft types and unfortunately made some advance cancellations on certain routes, including Manchester – Atlanta and Edinburgh – Orlando during the Spring and Belfast – Orlando next summer. Our London Heathrow – Shanghai services are also now set to resume on the slightly later date of 1 May 2023, restarting an important link between the UK and China.

As part of these schedule changes, we’ve also taken the commercial decision to end our Heathrow – Tobago flights from 11 January 2023. We’d like to sincerely thank our partners in Trinidad and Tobago for all their support over the years. This beautiful destination will always hold a very special place in our hearts.

We’ll also be reducing the frequency of Heathrow – Antigua flights, which from 11 May 2023 until the end of the Summer season will operate once a week as a ‘tag’ flight via Barbados. Non-stop services scheduled to operate between 11 May and 28 October 2023 will unfortunately be subject to cancellation.

We have a commitment to fly the routes where our customers most want to travel and responding to continued demand for our US heartland, we will be introducing three additional Miami services per week, with New York-JFK frequencies also increased to six times per day. Summer services from Heathrow to Pakistan’s capital Islamabad will operate three times a week and Lahore, four times and our popular Austin route, which launched in May 2022, will increase to daily flying in peak months.

Our schedule change policy allows customers to further amend their flights, should they wish, with no change fees, or request a refund. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused to affected customers.

We continue to do everything in our power to minimise disruption, getting our customers to where they need to be smoothly.

Bookings affected by the Tobago, Manchester – Orlando, Belfast – Orlando and Heathrow - Shanghai changes will be updated in your GDS on or before Saturday 15 October 2022.

Bookings affected by the Manchester – Atlanta, Edinburgh – Orlando and Heathrow – Antigua changes will be updated in your GDS on or before Saturday 22 October 2022.

Please check here regularly for updates and here for specific flight status.

Please ensure the latest traveller contact information is available within the booking, so the latest instructions reach the traveller via SMS and email.

Orlando starts in June. Unless the pound vs dollar rate improves trans Atlantic services will mainly be inbound business, not outbound.

Before anyone gives me pelters although the pound vs euro rate is weak it’s been much worse and hasn’t fallen by the same level as the dollar. It’s also much stronger against the Euro and Yen showing how the USA currency it at its strongest levels for many decades.

Global Infrastructure Partners is considering a potential sale of Edinburgh Airport in Scotland, as global air travel picks up again after the pandemic, people familiar with the matter said.

The New York-based investor is speaking with potential advisers about the feasibility of a sale next year and has informally reached out to some suitors, the people said, asking not to be identified as the information is private.

Edinburgh Airport could be valued at as much as £3 billion ($3.4 billion) in a deal, according to the people. A sale is likely to draw other infrastructure funds and financial investors keen to expand in the sector, they said.

Deliberations are ongoing and GIP could also decide against a sale, the people said. Representatives for GIP and Edinburgh Airport declined to comment.

Edinburgh Airport is Britain’s sixth-busiest with flights to more than 150 destinations. It attracted around 15 million passengers in 2019, according to its website. Those numbers cratered during the coronavirus crisis but have been recovering as travel restrictions ease around the world.

To be sure, an ongoing cost-of-living crisis and Russia’s war in Ukraine are threatening to keep UK passenger numbers below historical averages this winter.

GIP acquired Edinburgh Airport in 2012 from BAA Ltd. for about £807 million. The infrastructure fund sold a controlling stake in London’s Gatwick Airport for £2.9 billion pounds to Vinci SA in 2018.

AGS should be looking at this situation , selling Glasgow for a fraction of the £billions that Edinburgh is worth, to the buyers interested. Same catchment area.

They’re doing a fine job at EDI, wouldn’t put it past them to do well at PIK … Squeeze GLA operation from both sides. Very, very extreme long shot, I’d have thought.
