Virgin Atlantic may be starting MCO in June next year but with an A350-1000 not a 330. Also TUI is operating four flights EDI-MLB June and July 2023; I thought this had been canned but not according toSimply Flying website and EDI.
All in all then busy days ahead next summer with many wide bodies: DL767s AC and WS 787s, QR 787, 359; VS 35K and TOM 788. Just hope their are enough check in podiums and stands.
That change for Virgin was just in the last week (i think) along with a raft of flight time changes.
Our flights now 14:00/17:40 and return is 22:30/11:30. Some Orlando flights now due to leave after 11pm!

Doha increasing to 10x weekly, will be interesting to see what response this gets from EK.
Surely a sensible choice is to trump them. Go to double daily at GLA, amp up the fact they have the lounge offering or bring back the a380 for the wow factor....
However with GLA's track record it'll no doubt be a daily service into EDI as a spoiler.

I was reading an article earlier today regards cracks on wing surfaces and joints on olderA380s which affect some of the EK fleet. This may help explain its absence from GLA schedules.
Meantime QR at EDI ten weekly. Been here before but this time everything is ram jam.

S23 QR schedules will be confirmed shortly. The additional flights announced yesterday fall within the W22 schedules.
Remainder of Winter 22/23QR flights are 788. As far asI know next summer double daily 788 too but subject to confirmation.
Turkish ramping up capacity to/from EDI in the next week. A333 due in tomorrow, 321 on Sunday then 332’s Monday to Friday. Other forums reporting this is due to increased demand, primarily from Chinese pax transiting via IST. Ms Sturgeon won’t be happy. All this foreign travel and the UK Gov being slammed for not controlling the spread of covid……you can hear her now.

The new variant only affects people who fly direct from China to the UK, don’t you know…

Happy to correct you. Check out the foreign office info should you wish. Pax whose initial departure point is mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao and whose final destination is the UK are required to submit a negative test result no more than 48 hours before departure. The responsibility lies with the airline to manage the requirements. Have a great day!

I guess the sarcasm got lost in the rush to criticize.
