Loganair - New Southampton Base

Post by FlyGLA »

New Southampton Airport Base

Manchester to Southampton flights up to three times daily each week
Daily flights from Manchester to Exeter

Taking off on Monday, 26 October 2025.

https://www.loganair.co.uk/

This means Loganair now fly to Exeter from Glasgow East, Manchester and Newcastle but not their home base at GLA. Loganair really are a joke!

Where exactly do they fly to from GLA that's not in Scotland? I know they do NQY in summer (as they've taken my house as a deposit for the fares), but do they do any year round scheduled English destinations now?

Nothing apart from seasonal NQY. Ireland is LDY and CFN.

Really is so disappointing to see GLA wasn’t announced from SOU! Appreciate it must be difficult to compete with EZY but their scheduling is awful and LOG could work this to their advantage.

Compared to Jonathon Hinkles the new management do seem to be pushing for expansion outwith the Northern bases and away from Loganairs homeland…. Heres hoping it doesn’t end up another Flybe situation. Particularly as many of their ex management seem to be moving into Loganair. Can only hope lessons have been learned!

Compared to Loganair 10 years ago though, the new outfit is unrecognisable and a very good brand for Scotland overall.

Newquay is the only destination in England, and even that is a rather pathetic once-weekly service. Their fares, much like their schedules, are absurd. No one kills a popular route quite like Loganair.

Agreed. Last year we went to NQY with EZY. £195.90 return for me and the better half. This year, LM took £586.00 for the same flights. I know it's a smaller aircraft with less seats etc,etc... but come on, 3 X the fare ffs. :x
On that subject, can someone confirm if it's the ERJ145's doing the run or the dreaded ATR's?

EDIT: just checked the schedules, it's the ERJ's. Thank God for that.

For what it's worth, they go head-to-head with Ryanair on the Glasgow East to Newquay route.
