MOL has been over in Washington DC, signing on the dotted line for a further 75 Max-200's, taking the total on firm order to 210, all due to be delivered by 2024. He is raving about the cost savings achieved by the extra 8 seats and new engines, expecting a 16% saving in fuel costs. Looks like lots of -800s heading for the used aircraft market.

Wonder who is paying the tariffs? IIRC they are based on list price. Or is MOL counting on them being gone by delivery?

Mind you there may be lots of Air Europa short haul Boeing’s due to hit the market once the takeover is completed. You’ll not need short haul Boeing’s when you have Iberia, Iberia Express and Air Nostrum covering the network and removing duplication. The 787s will cover the secondary Latin American market and may even end up in other parts of IAG.

Eh? I was referring to the IMPORT tariffs that the EU slapped on Boeings due to WTO ruling - a tit for tat for tariffs on non BFM built A320 family delivered to US carriers.
