Arrivederci Alitalia

Post by awwdabaaby »

AZ1568 has literally just landed in Rome bringing an end to Alitalias 74 year history.

Tomorrow morning, Italia Trasporto Aero will begin operations having just won the tender to use the Alitalia brand.

Alitalia is dead, long live Alitalia.

Horrible new colour scheme.... sky blue, red, green and white!

Hopefully this incarnation will be profitable unlike predecessors.

What I saw on their website the other day was a blend of traditional flag and the 'azzuri'... I like it.

Sky blue aircraft against a blue sky? Does anyone remember when the CAA made Air UK change part of their new colours to include a white tail as the blue made the aircraft difficult to see? It was back in 1979/1980.

I must admit I’ve never been a fan. One of my close workers and now retired employee called it Messerschmit blue!

Well if the new outfit is considering a GLA route, we probably don't need to worry too much about losing it against a blue sky. :D

Be assured that if they’re considering a GLA route, EDI will inevitably have it in the bag

I’ve checked in a couple of Alitalia flights in my time. AZ8403 EDI-FCO.
