Big transatlantic expansion for summer 2025 announced today and once again GLA misses out.

Atlanta: Increased flights to Barcelona and Rome, and a new route to Naples
Boston: New routes to Barcelona and Milan
Detroit: New route to Dublin
Minneapolis: New route to Rome
New York JFK: New route to Catania

Unsurprising.

I wish all the new routes well!

Well I got one wrong.

I predicted CTA when there with Bearsden and Ian in April. Correct airport: wrong airline!

I predicted United but a blind man could see that a summer service would tick the boxes judging by the large number of USA visitors.

Probably a good thing. Glasgow has been turned into an absolute shite hole of a city

I can't see anything wrong with it myself

In the thousands of posts you've made across nearly every aviation forum, I can't recall a single valuable contribution from you—not even once.

Kirky, not a wise thing to say on a forum that's designed to support GLA. It's never a good thing for GLA to not secure new routes, regardless of your perceived state of the city. Give it a rest now please.

Meant to add. If anyone wants to debate the state of the city, or any other city for that matter, start a new thread in the non aviation section of the forum.

United just released their 2025 summer schedule this morning.

I thought we might have a slender chance of getting one of the big carriers back when the profit margins got thinner following post covid recovery maxing out and the airlines had to dig for other ways to expand, but even that doesn't look good for us. They'd rather fly to Senegal, Greenland and Mongolia it seems from this morning's announcement. I think the game is up now with the big carriers and for the timebeing at least not a single second of time or money should be spent on them. Full attention should be on Ryanair and nothing else actually IMO.
