CAA Stats Oct 23
CAA Stats Oct 23
That time of the month again, and October brings the summer season to an end.
12 mth rolling 7.210M
Oct 23 - total pax 723268 (+6%)
Domestic - 300523 (+3%)
International - 422745 (EU +6%, non-EU +14%) - Dubai 29734 (92.7% LF) with a 36% increase.
On some of our main routes, Berlin saw a 42% decline, but FRA showed a 31% increase, Dublin up by 10% and AMS up 12%. Mixed bag in Spain, with plusses in ALC and AGP countered by negatives everywhere else. A very useful 49% extra in KEF though, Turkey almost flat, but Toronto -15%. Interesting to note the Maleth A330 charter brought in 65 from Raleigh/Durham, taking 66 back out to Charlotte.

6% down on October 2019 . . . of course Thomas Cook had just gone into administration a month earlierPiperOne wrote: ↑Fri Dec 15, 2023 7:45 pm That time of the month again, and October brings the summer season to an end.

Re: CAA Stats Oct 23
I would normally post a link to my website to view the end of season seats filled figures, but I'll just post them below.
For clarification, I take the total seats available from the ACL Start of Season report and the month passenger figures from the CAA and get the load factors from that. It isn't a perfect science, but it's good for estimations.
For GLA I have also been able to include cancellation figures for each route, where applicable these will be shown like so [EZY - 1], these are 1 way cancellations, so a round trip would be 2, these are important as not everyone will rebook from GLA.
This list is sorted alphabetically by country.

Re: CAA Stats Oct 23
Good work George. High load factors across the board which is good news. The KEF example being an outlier because FI put a 763 on on the days Play are operating in a (successful) effort to get rid of them.

Re: CAA Stats Oct 23
Just double checked, the number looks to be spot on at 224,378 seats.
3 class A380 has 517 seats so per day that's 1,034 seats.
217 days in the season. 1034x217= 224,378

Thanks Clive, looking at the list it's good to see city breaks picking up in popularity, destinations such as CRL were up 10% points on last year.
Poland to me jumps out as having strong growth, with the routes up 5,8,7% points respectively.

I do like statistics but they have to be referenced in contextGeorgeNTravels wrote: ↑Sat Dec 16, 2023 2:44 pmThanks Clive, looking at the list it's good to see city breaks picking up in popularity, destinations such as CRL were up 10% points on last year.

How many extra passengers has Ryanair carried from/to CRL over the season? In October it was only 2,352 down 4.8% which might or might not be based on the number of rotations in the respective months given it is only twice weekly - the 2,352 carried was only 15% of the total Central Scotland to CRL passenger volume . . . and of course it is still not on sale for 2024

Re: CAA Stats Oct 23
Over the season the carried an extra 3,013 passengers.
What should be noted, and would definitely support your point is seasons of operation. Ryanair operated the route in W22/23 but is not this winter. As a result the last few flights may have been quite compared to last year as their wasn't return flights in November.

GLA-CRL (FR2558/9) is a summer only route - only Alicante, Malaga & Krakow operate along with Dublin over the winter timetableGeorgeNTravels wrote: ↑Sat Dec 16, 2023 6:17 pm Over the season the carried an extra 3,013 passengers.

Schedule king here, I advise you check page 3 of the Schedules (Ryanair Winter 2022) Charleoi operated last winter as you were advised, the service didn't operate this winter, end of discussionBearsden wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 12:17 amGLA-CRL (FR2558/9) is a summer only route - only Alicante, Malaga & Krakow operate along with Dublin over the winter timetableGeorgeNTravels wrote: ↑Sat Dec 16, 2023 6:17 pm Over the season the carried an extra 3,013 passengers.
