NCL
Re: NCL
Rumours on Airliners.net that FlyDubai may be set to take-over the NCL-DXB route with a 787. Apparently lack of business class demand is one of the reasons.
The budget product of FlyDubai is probably more suited to the NCL market as it's one of the most deprived corners of the UK.
If it does happen, hopefully GLA can secure their 777 and restore the second daily GLA-DXB.

Biz class is regularly full from NCL. The rumour was started by some fantasizing at Simply FlyingFlyGLA wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 2:20 pm Rumours on Airliners.net that FlyDubai may be set to take-over the NCL-DXB route with a 787. Apparently lack of business class demand is one of the reasons.

Re: NCL
I'm not sure how you would know that "Biz class is regularly full from NCL" or otherwise, as far as I'm aware CAA stats do not identify which cabin passengers are travelling in. Furthermore, even if business class is full only Emirates will know the yield and how many of these seats are rewards/free upgrades.
Based on the demographics of the North East of England, it has always surprised me that Emirates fly to NCL.

You obviously don’t take into account the Nissan Factory in Sunderland or the fact that Newcastle has many finance firms in its catchment area,
.
Re: NCL
You obviously don't take into account that cars being built in Sunderland are destined for Europe, what this has to do with Emirates I don't know. sure, some execs might fly in every now and again but hardly enough to fill the business cabin on a daily bases.
Newcastle isn't a major financial city. Let's not pretend that it is. That's like saying EDI is a major hub like LHR but then again we've seen such claims made . Sure, some banks including Santander have offices in Newcastle but the majority of the job roles here are relatively low pay, low skill customer service type roles. Call centres, predominantly. People earning big money in banking (£100k+ salaries) are not living in the North East of England.
It's no secret that the North East of England is one of the most deprived areas in the country so I'm not sure you're trying pretend otherwise.

I’m not pretending anything. Ask PiperOne. He worked for Clydesdale,NAB, then Virgin Money which is headquartered in Gosforth. In the Borders Dawson International, or what is left of it, and Pringle are Chinese owned. Hawick is closer to NCL than EDI. I personally have never said EDI is a major hub like LHR. What I did say is that it had international to international frequent transfers from North America to the Middle East and Scandinavia to North America too.
Please do not misquote me, try and make a fool of me or simply be disrespectful. Anything I do say is based on truth and first hand experience in both financial services and transportation.

Re: NCL
Ok. Japanese owned Nissan of Sunderland are the largest single private sector company in the North East of England. Like many other universities Newcastle has a Chinese student population. Dawson International, whom my late father worked for at Todd and Duncan in Kinross are Chinese owned.
AC to QR daily transfers, SK to AC regular transfers and UA to/from SK as international to international traffic.
