Excellent, that preserves the Dublin connections to North America.

Cork will never be a major route for us, but right now anything is welcome and the publicity machine has to get it out there to the wider public.

Certainly. Please inform all other airlines as well that GLA is not accepting new routes until New York is reinstated.

United and EWR are not returning and in 10 years time GLA's only long haul service will be summer-season TUI flights.
Can we quote you on that? Jesus, we may as well hand back the keys and tell everyone it's closed.... yeah things aren't great at the moment with regards destinations but who knows what's going to happen..... glass half full here (something strong, please)
But worry not my friend. I m certain I read a document on here from someone in senior management who said " but wait until September" or something close to that. So here we are. I cant wait to read whatever it is...

Yes, you can. It’s not hard to believe, is it? The US3 are now well-established at EDI, and JetBlue has joined them. WestJet and Air Canada have also shifted east. Emirates has already cut back one of its two daily flights from GLA to launch a service at EDI, and EK is likely to follow the same path as CO/UA.
American do not operate to EDI. EK didn't cut the second daily flight to start EDI.

I stand by the fact that the *resumption* of a few weekly flights on an ATR to Cork is not something to make a fuss about on social media like you've struck gold.

It doesn't matter anyway as they've gone back to posting pictures of hen dos.

This was in the airport consultative committee meeting minutes for January 2024, with all the names redacted before the minutes being published, for all I know it could have been a cleaner that said that his neighbours cats heard something.

I highlighted the September comment, and a link to the website it came from is here; https://www.glasgowairport.com/about-us ... committee/

Cheers George. Thanks for posting.
"Demand for flights into Edinburgh is now beginning to fall". Really? That's news to me and flippant to the n'th degree. The big announcement in September? I reckon there's a new burger joint opening at the airport or that GLA will have the £1 non-refundable trolleys. Come on AGS, make me eat my words, just for once. I double dare you. :D

How any business would allow this into the public domain is beyond me!

2x weekly ATR42 to Humberside I guess.

Only "aspirations" to get a US service in 2025 shows the CEOs words to be hot air imo. He gave the impression it was more advanced and a top priority. Meanwhile LBA CEO says they'll have US schedules in 3 years.

The pound is going up v dollar and some are forecasting it to keep going up - this should favour GLA with more outbound and undermine EDI with its greater inbound, as holidays in Scotland for US visitors will get more expensive.

So GLA management were trailing "big announcements" in September? What they were apparently forgetting to mention was that they would be at EDI!
