It would be interesting to hear peoples thoughts on EK’s numbers compared to their main competitor - Qatar and on a smaller scale Turkish. Is their an underlying reason why growth appears to have flat lined and other places is seeing considerable growth?

EK - Dubai 31,119 compared to 30,976 in July 2023. Basically flat line % wise.
QR - Doha (EDI) 33,871 +10% on July 2023.
TK - Istanbul (EDI) 15,508 +42% on July 2023.

Although EK’s numbers have held up, the absence of a second daily is clearly not helping. No real growth at all compared to July last year. Turkish have grown quite considerably. It goes without saying that GLA would be very keen to attract/secure them.

The GLA service won’t grow until more capacity is added because the plane is to all intents and purposes full.

Did QR operate the A359 or the B789 last summer?

Think Turkish might be combination of additional frequencies and going from B738 to A321Neo.

On a historic note, 20 years ago in July 2004, GLA had its first ever million passenger month, with a total of 1010032 and a 12-month rolling figure of 8.32m, and a 4% share of the UK market. So this year's 846250, 7.76m, and 2.7% is a long way short. 2004 was the first year of Dubai, Philadelphia, and Globespan.

Traffic split this year (2004)
International...532464 (575408)
Domestic........313786 (430976)

So a very noticeable decline of domestic, with International not quite so bad, but I would suggest still a lot of work to be done.
