And GLA also helping to advertise NQY flights from other airports on the GLA news page

'The addition of the Glasgow to Newquay route joins Loganair’s other Newquay direct flights from Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Manchester and Newcastle.'

Pathetic. Whoever is responsible for what AGS put out should be sacked for this. Absolute laziness and incompetence.

Never mind - the Evening Times have picked up on this ‘story’ with the headline:

‘Thrilled’: Major airline launches new route from Glasgow Airport

A major airline has launched a new route from Glasgow Airport.

Loganair has announced they are launching direct flights from the city's airport to Newquay in Cornwall, England, as part of its 2025 summer schedule.

The travel firm revealed the flights will operate on Saturday afternoons between May and September next year.

Meanwhile, the new route joins Loganair’s other Newquay direct flights from Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Manchester, and Newcastle.

Luke Lovegrove, Chief Commercial Officer at Loganair said: “We are really pleased to be adding the Glasgow to Newquay service to our network of regional UK routes and we’re sure it will prove a popular choice in summer 2025.

“We will continue to work closely with the teams at both airports to maximise the potential of this route in line with our continued commitment to UK regional connectivity.”

Chris Tibbett, Aero Director at AGS Airports said: “We are thrilled to see Glasgow’s home airline, Loganair, expanding its network with the reinstatement of the popular Glasgow to Newquay route.

"Thousands of passengers travel between Glasgow and Cornwall each summer, and this key leisure service provides an excellent opportunity for those in Western Scotland to explore one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations.

“With the addition of Newquay, Glasgow will be connected to nine destinations in England next summer.

"This news highlights our continued commitment to offering passengers a wide range of direct services across the UK.”

Amy Smith, Head of Commercial at Cornwall Airport Newquay added: "We’re delighted to see the return of the Newquay to Glasgow route, now served by Loganair.

"This connection has always been popular, and we're excited to offer passengers another opportunity to travel between Cornwall and Scotland.

"We look forward to working with Loganair to make this route a great success and are pleased to see their route network from Newquay expand.”

The direct flights will be priced from £89.99. The fare includes all luggage – in hold, and cabin baggage – as well as taxes.

Interesting use of language - AGS spokesperson 'With the addition of Newquay, Glasgow will be connected to nine destinations in England next summer.' while NQY spokesperson 'We're delighted to see the return of the Newquay to Glasgow, now served by Loganair.'

So 2 x A319 replaced by 1 x EMB145
Checking back on FR24, there were 20 rotations this year, 14 of which were A319, the others on 186-seat A320/A20N. Total seats 6600 (carried 5359, so LF of 81.2%). So, perhaps not a high enough load factor for Easyjet, but Loganair would need to operate 55 rotations to carry that number of people. Clearly there is demand, it's more about getting the right balance of supply & demand.

To be fair to EZY, I thought they had the NQY schedule perfect. You could go for 3 nights, 4 nights or 7 nights and the lunchtime flight times were pretty perfect too. LM will trash this route, there's no way fares will start at £89 all inclusive for a start and 1 flight per week is nuts. They'll then pull the route after 1 season and bingo...we're left with nowt again. All in my opinion of course. ;)

By the time most people hit 12, they've usually outgrown the urge to be the class clown. Let's see if the quality of your posts and overall contribution improves beyond the current standard you've established.
