NCL-BGY seems to do well at 4 x weekly during the summer. GLA-BGY would do well as well I would expect

Good news. Surprising aspect for me is that a new route is also bucket and spade. Would have more expected another Euro city or somewhere else in the British Isles like BOH or BFS if a new FR route was to launch. Even last time around when the base was announced the Med routes pretty much still stayed at PIK bar some latter non based flying on low frequency to ALC and AGP and I think for a year or two to LPA and ACE.

There’s the trap we often fall into. This is a development at their MLA base. Maybe the Maltese Tourist Board identified it as an open goal. It’s not likely to have been anything to do with whatever else they might do from GLA, ie it’s not in lieu of a BOH or BFS, if that makes sense.

But what I am hoping is that yes it’s MLA based but just maybe it’s the forerunner of a GLA expansion in the shape of a GLA base which would also host away based schedules. At the very least it shows the airline has not forgotten about GLA.

True, but it seems that the only business that can be gained is either to Poland or somewhere with a beach. The rest is served via Edinburgh.
