Flights for 2025
Flights for 2025
A mega mission in February: EDI-LHR-SIN with BA. Followed by QF SIN-PER.
March: SYD-HKG with CX then CX again HKG-BKK. MH BKK-KUL followed by a disruption transfer - KUL-LHR-EDI cancelled due to the well publicised issues with RR Trent engines replaced by KUL-DOH-EDI on QR. Another example of having multiple alliance airlines providing alternative connections in the case of disruption transfers.
You would think that after all that we would be having a long rest from flying but no. Late April into May sees is taking a GLA-PMI flight with TUI the return being from DBV to GLA early May. A repositioning cruise on Marella Explorer2 from Palma to Dubrovnik.

Fun and games! I was booked GLA-LHR-KUL with BA in Jan. I'm having a night in KL before heading to Borneo for a couple of weeks.atuk wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 9:10 am A mega mission in February: EDI-LHR-SIN with BA. Followed by QF SIN-PER.

BA have rebooked me through DOH which means that a) I'll get to try their updated lounge at T4, b) I'll have 6 hours in the bar on the A380 on LHR-DOH and C) some time in the fab lounge at DOH before Qsuites to KUL. Happy days. And a tier point bonanza, haha!
I'm flying GLA-LHR-BOM in Feb, then getting a connection down to Goa for a week.
When are you at LHR? It would be nice to see you there!

All good here, thanks. Hope you are too.
Currently looking like 24 Oct, 9, 20 and 26 Nov, 19 Dec, 9 & 24 Jan, 10 and 18 Feb. If I'm on my own I will have a CCR guesting spot

Re: Flights for 2025
Thanks to BA Dreamliner issues our KUL-LHR flight has been pulled. The replacement is now QR: KUL-DOH-EDI. I’ve never visited DOH, has anyone else been there?
Re: Flights for 2025
Been through Doha a few times now a large airport which is still growing. It can be a very long walk between gates even with travelators and there can be transit security. There is a light rail system in part of the terminal taking you to the newest part where the Garden is, a very mini version of the Jewel in Singapore. At the moment loads of bus gates.
As to be expected loads of shopping and places to eat. Not experienced any of them yet as either been able to use one of the Qatar Airways lounges or been on a very tight transit. Did have the pleasure one time of having the long trudge into the central terminal and then having to do the return to catch the same plane back to EDI.
Heading to Singapore next May via Doha a mix of 350-900s with and without Q suites. Service on board can be mixed sometimes great and sometimes not so much so.
QR is Mrs M’s preferred airline at the moment.

I've been through a few times. Last was a week ago coming home from a break in Qatar.
It's a lovely airport although at busy times there can be pinch points.
I really hope you're in J, if you've been rebooked by BA you'll be eligible to use the two lovely lounges Al Mourjan and Al Mourjan garden. Both are spectacular. Failing that your BA status will get you into the OW lounges which are ok but nothing like the main lounges.
PS, you've got to get a pic of the bear

Doha would be in my top 3 airports alongside Singapore and Hong Kong. Dubai would probably be fourth but lacks a bit compared to the other 3.
