Agree with all these ideas for the tightest measures but of course the idiotic right wingers would be claiming it’s a communist government and all that Trumpian bull instead of realising it’s to save lives and get the economy back to full speed an awful lot sooner.

To this day there are still Tory bampots in England saying lift the lockdown, let the fittest survive and let the virus weed out the weak. Hitler would be proud.
I dont think right wingers have the monopoly on stupidity. It doesnt matter about your politics, rich or poor, some people just will not be told and will continue to ignore or even disobey the rules no matter what. They keep interviewing people on the telly lying in their hospital beds - "if only I'd listened to the rules" said one not so old guy! The end may not be exactly nigh! but we are slowly running out of ICU Beds in some hospitals and staff are just about the end of their tether. If Covid were to end tomorrow, all hospital staff will probably need about three months to recover physically and mentally. So if you need a new hip, knee, etc, then wait in a very long and getting longer line.

The police in Scotland have been far too soft in enforcing the rules. Thats why people are ignoring them.
The police in Scotland are stuck between a rock and a hard place. They were told to "encourage and educate" the population to follow the rules throughout the Pandemic. This approach has only very recently changed despite it being obvious for a long time it was not working. This is directly linked to how the Government wanted the pandemic policed. They presumably didn't want accusations of a police state but look where it has brought us. People take the "I'm alright jack approach" which is then validated by lack of enforcement.

KLM have apparently suspended all intercontinental flights, all South African, South American, UK and some European night stopper services as the Dutch government is trying to reduce Covid importation into Netherlands.

Yes, two relatively small airfields in the south-west . . . Newquay has temporarily closed its terminal although I haven't seen anything about Exeter 'closing' but it only has one flight to Belfast City three times a week

Exeter has overnight Royal Mail flights.
West Atlantic had a 737-400 have a hard landing there last week that buckled the fuselage.
