Yeah that's always been my initial suspicion.
Only if GLA get the cheque book out! IMHO they will only serve EDI or GLA not both in the future

I agree about 2023. No matter what they do elsewhere there is clearly a market at least a seasonal USA-NYC-GLA-NYC-USA. One which commands just as high fares as any other second tier European destination and one which will have load factors front and back on a par with any of their global services.

So I wouldn’t doubt it for a moment as air travel builds back up. If not United, then Delta.

All it was was announcing 5 new flights to LHR, resulting in 22 daily flights from the airport

United removed from the Glasgow Airport website list of Airline Operators as of 30/10/2021, and looking at the destination map New York has been removed completely, so expect Delta to come off that list as well.

Not surprised. The managed decline continues. :(

Given UA's move to a more premium-heavy product, with the advent of their new Premium Economy seating, I'm not sure how that will work in GLA. The A321 layouts have not yet been released, but will feature Polaris Business Class with lie-flats, Premium Economy using Domestic First style 2+2 big seats, extra legroom 3+3 economy, and standard economy down the very back.

Three of the new LHR services feature the new Premium heavy 763 fleet, with only 56 standard economy, so clearly looking for those prepared to pay a bit more for extra space.

Seems to be working at EDI, since that has now become this country’s only focus for North American travel. At least now with NYC coming off GLA’s destination map we (the travelling public) know that Glasgow International Airport is no longer a gateway to USA any longer. No need for present or future speculation. The mould has been filled.
