The CAA's January 2022 statistics have been published

Terminal Passengers 214,700 (2019 was 526,000 so just over 40% of the last non-COVID 19 period)

Split Domestic 128,000 (60%) International 87,000 (40%)

Of the International 87,000, only 8 routes achieved over 3,000 passengers which represented nearly 85% of the total international passengers

Once again we see the domination of domestic travel, which reflects the BA and Easyjet schedules. Internationally, we see the strength of Jet2 on the routes down to the Canaries, but also a reasonable showing from Emirates. 214k total for the month is not brilliant, it might be a struggle to get over 4m for the year, unless we see a big recovery in the summer.

I have to agree that 4m (45% of 2019's 8.8m) looks like a bit of a stretch forecast - up from 2.25m as of end January (ie an average increase over 2021 of 160,000 passengers every month from February to December)

Yes 4 departures in the space of 45 minutes . . . . but there were only 20 departures in the next 6 hours including some low capacity Loganair flights

All going to plan, my wife & I will add 4 to Glasgow's passenger numbers next weekend to/from Bristol with easyJet - my last flights were two years ago tomorrow from Nice via Heathrow

Flightradar is like a non stop shuttle service between the UK and the Canaries most days, dozens of outbound and inbound flights cris-crossing.Especially for MAN.
