Hah, I looked at the shipfinder app at around 0700, and it had it still west of Gourock having just entered the Firth. So I downed a quick coffee thinking I had plenty time to drive the 12 minutes or so to Langbank to launch my drone. I checked the app again as I got out the car and the fecker was now showing her sailing past Yoker !

Here's a few drone shots I got from Shieldhall shortly after she berthed at KG5... :o (Better luck next time)

Good effort, still lots of empty quayside for more.
Thank you. I believe Clydeflyer mentioned another two to follow.
Yes great stuff. I like seeing drone footage. Impressed you can even fly the thing in a controlled manner. :D

You wouldn't believe how much I can't do in a controlled manner. 😅

It’s my understanding that the operators of these ships have been trying for a couple of months to get them alongside somewhere in order to disembark the crew, and that Greenock then Glasgow were offered due to:

Availability of hotels to quarantine the crews, access to major hospital facilities if required, onward transportation links via airport and trains.

Cracking to see the drone footage - top notch. The `Pursuit was on a cruise off Argentina at the beginning of March and tried to dock to offload passengers there. Suspecting a COVID-19 outbreak on board several countries knocked it back. It eventually made it to Miami via the Panama Canal. No one was found to be infected. Quite a journey. Could be at the KGV for a while. I still haven`t heard about the others but if I get any info I`ll post it here.

Azamara Quest is south east of Hurghada heading for the Suez Canal
Azamara Journey is heading for Salalah in Oman.
Both per Cruisemapper.com
At a guess if they are coming to KGV, the first should be here within two weeks and the second about a week later.

Glad you enjoyed it, I'll try and get the next one or both further downstream, all things being equal. Here is the above clip again but with some new slow motion software applied. "Only" a 22 hour render time, but looks good.

Could have sworn I saw a second identical funnel on the dock on Friday as I drove up the M8 past Braehead. Did another sneak in ?

Hi Allen -

Great to see what the KGV looks like as it`s well screened from the road. Drone footage excellent but it looks as though you need a powerful PC to edit the footage.

As Bearsden says, it looks as though the cruise ship was the one docked when you passed, but Fisheries Protection Vessel Minna went up there this morning.

Cheers.

Thanks, I'll use that source from now on.
