GLA-CDG and Return
Flew out to Paris with my sister as she wanted to go to a convention but isn't used to travelling abroad.
The airport was relatively busy, EZY flights to Paris, Amsterdam and Belfast doing a lot of heavy lifting, alongside some Loganair and KLM pax. Security was well organised and efficient, something in my eyes GLA has improved massively on over the last few years.
EZY 6883 on Thursday was over 95% full, however, confusion over the mask policy for EZY and France left many people confused over which masks were accepted. The crew on the flight were excellent as usual, however, catering had not been restocked leaving you with a choice of water or sprite. Flight was smooth and we landed into Paris early, however, this was eaten away by a 15 min taxi to terminal 2B.
Arrival was smooth, no border queue and bags were available within 10 mins of arrival at the belt.
Whilst my sister was at her convention I explored Paris, and maybe as a 20 year old single male I am in the wrong category, but Paris is slightly overrated in my opinion.
The return in my eyes was a prime example of shambolic airport organisation and culture.
Bag drop took 55 mins for an automated process, that required a human to actually be present? Maybe someone will know more about why this is the case than me.
Security was empty, but despite this staff insisted on using the full S shape queuing system and rudely shouted and pointed at 2 passengers who were running because of the long bag drop queue.
The person stamping passports for leaving France used a different page than my arrival stamp, wasting a page, when the arrival stamp was literally over the page.
No announcements were made for flights and departure screens were sparsely available in the terminal, many people running for flights becasuse of the previously mentioned queues.
Arrival into GLA however was smooth and efficient. Border Control was well organised and staff friendly to everyone. Bags were available within 10 mins of arrival into the belt, and taxis were available upon arrival.
All in all I felt team GLA have stepped up in areas they did not do so well in before, whereas, CDG has a lot left to improve upon.

Lol, I love Paris! Not been there for a very long time unfortunately. CDG is rubbish though, no wonder AF didn't do well from GLA trying to hub people through there!
Who did you fly with on the return journey and how busy was it? I saw a tweet of somebody travelling NCL-ORY-EDI with vuerling and transavia last week and both flights were virtually empty! (so much for "high demand" for EDI!).

All the Vueling flights from the UK to Orly have been performing dreadfully, think GLA-ORY averaging about 40 pax a flight, NCL-ORY 35 a flight, BFS about 10 a flight!Iain wrote: ↑Fri Mar 25, 2022 10:09 pm Lol, I love Paris! The flight I was booked on for Jan had 14 going out and 7 going back, but ended up cancelled because of French Entry rulesGKirk wrote: ↑Mon Mar 28, 2022 9:13 amAll the Vueling flights from the UK to Orly have been performing dreadfully, think GLA-ORY averaging about 40 pax a flight, NCL-ORY 35 a flight, BFS about 10 a flight!Iain wrote: ↑Fri Mar 25, 2022 10:09 pm Lol, I love Paris! Which is a real shame as ORY really is a splendid airport in a great location.GKirk wrote: ↑Mon Mar 28, 2022 9:13 amAll the Vueling flights from the UK to Orly have been performing dreadfully, think GLA-ORY averaging about 40 pax a flight, NCL-ORY 35 a flight, BFS about 10 a flight!Iain wrote: ↑Fri Mar 25, 2022 10:09 pm Lol, I love Paris! I am looking at trying to move my CDG-GLA flights to ORY-GLA because I really can't stand another experience at CDG, if that is what it is like in winter then I dread the summer months.bill wrote: ↑Mon Mar 28, 2022 6:24 pmWhich is a real shame as ORY really is a splendid airport in a great location.GKirk wrote: ↑Mon Mar 28, 2022 9:13 amAll the Vueling flights from the UK to Orly have been performing dreadfully, think GLA-ORY averaging about 40 pax a flight, NCL-ORY 35 a flight, BFS about 10 a flight!Iain wrote: ↑Fri Mar 25, 2022 10:09 pm Lol, I love Paris! Re: GLA-CDG and Return
Doing some quick maths for GLA based on last months pax numbers so they may not be exact.
970 pax in Feb 2022
8 flights each way in Feb 2022
970/8 = 121.25 (will round to 121)
121 pax per day - meaning average of 60 per day each way
