Lufthansa didn’t load my bag somewhere on route, so I’m now here with none of my own clothes until Monday.

Thank you, you have been more use than the Lufthansa service desk people, who said it isn’t the responsibility of LH.
The Newark airport staff at airline services have said if it arrives tomorrow they will hold it until Monday when I’m back for a flight to Chicago.
You're welcome. In the old days they used to provide you with basic toiletries and after so long of you being without your baggage, they'd reimburse you for any clothing etc that you needed to buy. It was always a bit of a faff - not sure if it is more straightforward these days. Contact them on Twitter too if required - that seems to be the way to get customer service results these days!

I had a similar baggage issue with BA a few years ago on a two day business trip to Chicago then driving to Battle Creek - handed a $100 debit card & collected hold bag on departure . . . . I've always carried a change of clothing in my cabin bag!

GLA celebrating 50 years of Lufthansa at Glasgow on social media today
Just a few days late it took place in Friday. Seen the station manager’s photos.
More to the point, they didn't serve GLA from the 90s until 2015...
True but it’s good to see they still recognise the fact that 50 years ago marked the first service from FRA to GLA via MAN and they are back, thankfully, serving this route today.
Personally had it not been for the fact that bmi became part of BA I’d still be a loyal Diamond Club /Star Alliance member. Sad truth is that I’ve more to lose as a BA card holder than to gain elsewhere.

I’ve learnt to carry clothes in cabin baggage the hard way unfortunately

It finally arrived today, along with 20 or so other bags. I had it for 10 mins before handing it to United, however, I’ve learned my lesson and took a change of clothes out of it and put them in my cabin bag.
