LAX seeks Scotland route through incentives program
LAX are launching an incentives program through to 2024 to support new non-stop routes to various destinations. Scotland has been listed as one of them.

This should be in the ‘Other Aviation’ section. It’s not or ever will be GLA news.
Re: LAX seeks Scotland route through incentives program
I think VS have dropped MAN-LAX, but that doesn't mean they won't look at EDI-LAX. The embarrassing loss of VS wasn't just about MCO.
Re: LAX seeks Scotland route through incentives program
Forget it.
Lax passenger are not wanting to come to Scotland it to wet and cold for them
Scottish passenger for Lax, I don’t see enough passenger to make it happen either from Edi or GLA
I cant see this happening.

Re: LAX seeks Scotland route through incentives program
Large numbers of Americans come here, so I don't see why that shouldn't apply to those originating from CA. Also, OSL-LAX operated on Norwegian and I believe Norse have just announced they're restarting it - Norway is just as wet and cold as Scotland!
When you add in outbound then I think you could maybe do a couple of flights a week in summer.
I have a very vague memory that their were limited flights on GLA-LAX sometime in the 90s - or am I imagining that?
It's notable that LAX seem to want "Scotland" and don't specifically identify a city, which is different to the other Euro destinations they want where they do specifically mention the capitals. If they wanted EDI specifically they'd say so I'd wager, so that kind of goes against the arguments that foreign airlines and airports want EDI and nothing else. Moreover it shows GLA should absolutely be pitching for this business.

In the 90's , excaliber where about to start x2 weekly GLA -LAX flights on a DC10-30 .. Unfortunately they went bust before they started

Aer Lingus has a DUB-LAX service, I've used it myself. Maybe their UK division could be persuaded to do a GLA/MAN bounce ? More importantly, has anyone at GLA got an iron in the fire right now ?
