If my memory serves me correctly I am sure (amongst the many variations PIA operated here) the flight went something like LHE-ISB-GLA-LYP-LHE - can't really remember though. Am sure at one point they even operated ISB-DXB-GLA-DXB-ISB or something along those lines.

When they first started the flight operated via DXB, I am certain that the initial flight was delayed due to an incident at DXB, something in my mind says it was a Biman nose collapse.

When the service returned for the second time, Faislabad was served only outbound from GLA due to runway length there, which meant the A310 couldn't take off from there fully loaded, but was OK to land.

I believe that many people of Pakistani heritage in Scotland have roots in the Faisalabad area.

It looks like you can get one stop connect via DXB on EK/flydubai, but in one direction the journey takes 30h. As such, a direct nonstop flight to LYP might be sufficiently attractive to do all right and perform better than the hopscotch routes PK operated before.
