Is there somewhere local that would teach you to fly it, or is it idiot proof? I'd hate for my £450 to go up in smoke after 5 minutes.........

I don't know anybody personally offering drone lessons, that's not to say they don't exist. It's not difficult, you just need to practice the basics at low level and increase your confidence as you go. Most people will tell you to find a wide open space with no trees, power lines or lamp posts and practice, that's what I did, at my old former high school's sports field. I've only been doing it about six months but feeling pretty confident.

For more assurance get a drone with proximity sensors that will stop you flying into things, The Mavic Mini doesn't have these unfortunately to keep it cheaper and lighter. The Mavic Air does however and now that the Mavic Air 2 is out, there's plenty 2nd hand Air's going a begging, plus the odd new one still sitting on shelves at various dealers. Plenty guidance videos on all aspects of drone flying on YouTube, there's also the DJI online drone-simulator, available to try or buy.

Here's a bit more footage taken today at the docks, showing both the 'Pursuit' and 'Quest' tied up. The Pursuit appears to have moved further up the dock to accomodate the Quest. This was filmed at a take off spot behind Sainsbury's at Braehead and also features a fly-over of a huge pile of wind turbine blades, awaiting despatch.

I noticed that too, just as well. It's really not the weather for standing by the Clyde.

Appears to be be heading South, passed the Isle of Man approx 0700. Has now dropped off AIS, so who knows where she's going?

Currently in the general direction of Dun Laoghaire, so who knows what they're up to ? Information posted elsewhere suggests Glasgow tomorrow instead.
