If this happens ... GLA may as well be a back water airport
Anyone who finds this a surprise needs their heads checked.

Yeah if that all comes to fruition the games a bogey.

Surely there comes a point that there is too much TATL competition at EDI.

Interesting to note that Ryanair have had to adjust some of their slots as the terminal capacity limits would have been exceeded, that's why they have increased the number of departures between 0500 % 0559

"An increase in demand at peak times from Ryanair resulted in initial demand exceeding terminal limits in the first wave departure peak and late evening arrivals peak."

Seems to me that FR could look to GLA to provide some relief capacity if they are not happy about having to adjust schedules.

With regards to the Icelandair slots that goes against what they said at the WorldTravelMarket on Tuesday as they said,

"Icelandair currently serve regions with little TransAtlantic Connectivity in order to absorb some of that demand.

Easy jet is very strong on EDI KEF, so Icelandair is most likely hoping to try and pick up this business.

That might be what they said, but both you, I & next doors budgie know that FI serve lots of Euro City destinations with various Cross Atlantic Services: AMS, FRA, MAN, LHR, OSL, ARN, CDG… etc, etc, etc … Sure GLA, HAM, SZG are there too … Adding EDI to their KEF hub using smaller modern Boeing jobbies would not be cm’s away from their model… I think what they said was very appeasing to maybe the question asked…

Possibly, they were my first ever interview carried out so I freely admit I probably didn’t ask the question in the best way.

Could the additional trans Atlantic routes be the return of American?
