Jet2
Re: Jet2
A quick look at Flight Radar 24 shows you that the most affected part of the Uk by far, regarding Flights , is scotland. Have a look. At any point during the day. Multiple aircraft in the air all over the country. But not here. Im sure someone can explain the reason
Re: Jet2
Most of them are Transatlantic overflights, particularly freighters going from Germany to the USA from what I’ve seen.hads wrote: ↑Tue May 26, 2020 9:57 am A quick look at Flight Radar 24 shows you that the most affected part of the Uk by far, regarding Flights , is scotland. Re: Jet2
Yeah, generally all freighters or passenger types acting as freighters. An Aer Lingus A330 crosses Dumfries & Galloway a couple of times a day, most days to and fro from Beijing for PPE supplies. Much more frequently than anything doing similar into PIK I might add, although to be fair we get a dedicated 747 freighter, versus belly loads on a smaller aircraft. The other 'boom' area in Scottish aviation right now is in the north sea oil field helicopter transport area with extra helicopter activity to keep up with demand in 'social distancing' travel mode. And lest we forget that Loganair are managing to keep a fairly active schedule, certainly within Scottish air space.
Re: Jet2
Don't know if they extended their period but in our case we were booked and fully paid up to go to Palma on 17th July for our daughters wedding which has now been cancelled as the venue were insisting on all sorts of compliance's that just wouldn't make it a viable occasion unfortunately...had to take a £5K hit as the hotel were not cancelling...Gla1 wrote: ↑Thu May 14, 2020 8:34 pm Don’t suppose anyone has heard any whispers about Jet2 extending their change/cancellation period Beyond the 17th of June. Have a family member who’s holiday to cOrfu for the first week of a July is paid but quite frankly isn’t comfortable traveling. Caught between a rock and a hard place atm.
Anyway went onto the Jet2 call desk to see what our options were and was answered by a very nice lady after an hour waiting in the queue...not too bad a wait. Upshot was that as we had booked the full package of flights and hotel we could change the date AND the destination country AND the type of accommodation ie a villa instead of a hotel for an admin fee of £50 per person travelling plus there is no time limit on when you want to travel...although you should book it sooner rather than later as the admin fee goes up the nearer the re booking gets to the original departure date.
Thinking of going to Malta in June but never been there before...anyone got any opinions about Malta as a destination for a quite wee holiday for a pair of auld fogies in their early 60's

Further delay to operations commencing - now expected to start 15th July.
I suspect it might be a lot longer before we see flying recommence with them.
