WTM 2022

Post by GeorgeNTravels »

Today I had the pleasure of taking my travel brand to the World Travel Market in London today. I spent the day talking to a number of different airlines, rail companies and a few tourist boards.

Below is a list of the airlines I was able to speak too;

Air Montenegro
Pegasus
Royal Air Maroc
Icelandair
Aegean

I will be writing about some of these interviews over the coming weeks. I have also requested a meeting with both Emirates and Corendon, however, I do not expect these to be granted given how busy they were today.

Furthermore, Visit “Scotland” are there, however, they have a very small team and their stand was near impossible to find.

The 1st Interview is out and is a brief discussion with Icelandair, hope you take the chance to read and any constructive criticism would be welcome. This was my 1st ever interview with me asking the questions and I am keen to hear feedback so I know how to improve.

Interesting that most passengers on the FI GLA-KEF are just doing there and back currently. Would have thought majority would be connecting onwards given the lack of direct flights.

Seems to be a lot of Icelandic folk in Carlisle at the moment, wonder if they flew into GLA.

He reckons the GLA tx market is weak so what chance do GLA bosses have?

The main point he raised was BA have such a strong presence on the route that people are using that, plus during covid, transferring flights in your home country was easier than an international change so that swayed people's choices. I suspect we will see a shift in 2023 when people see what happened this year.
