I did think the reintroduction of Ryanair domestic links to STN could be the catalyst we needed to get a base established at GLA, as happened before.

So it has to be new destinations which I suspect means targetting passengers 'leaking' to Edinburgh or Prestwick - I can't think of any viable destinations on Ryanair's current footprint not already served by the airline from Central Scotland

It could be an interesting exercise to examine the Ryanair schedules from EDI for those with higher frequency schedules of 6 or more weekly. One way to predict demand from GLA is to have half the flights that EDI has since we are entertaining about half the volume of pax that EDI does. Not completely related to your point Clive but I should also throw into the mix that Tallinn, Marrakesh and Zadar have not been loaded from EDI next summer. The breadth of Ryanair's offering from Edinburgh is predominately on 2 or 3 times a week schedules with a few exceptions like Berlin, Copenhagen, Gdansk, Prague & Warsaw so the rebates deal on the 2 or 3 times a week schedules would involve switching airports . . . . just as was done in the reverse direction in October 2018 when Ryanair closed its Glasgow base (I was told by a then senior manager at GLA that management knew nothing about the announcement which you may recall was made in Edinburgh while announcing an expansion there . . . that is the hard deal making which airports have to do with Ryanair so I was interested in some of the observations about commercial tactics above)
Clearly Scandinavia is a huge hole in Glasgow's schedules so Copenhagen would seem an obvious target . . . not just Ryanair but anybody!
Similarly easyJet offer high frequencies on a number of routes out of Edinburgh such as Geneva while Glasgow is limited to weekend winter ski flights
