Had hoped as an avid follower of sean on twitter that perhaps as Ryanair started to release a new string of routes there would be good news for GlA. However sadly not to be at this stage anyway.

We should bare in mind the original quote from Ryanair said "perhaps heading into next summer". I am all for good news but lets not get too attached to the idea of a base this summer.

That's not what I am talking about, the word perhaps suggests there is an element of it might happen, but it might not, It leaves doubt over any expansion (especially considering WMI has been reduced back to 2x weekly flights from it's increase in S22.

If you want to insult my intelligence by suggesting that I don't know when next summer is then go ahead but at least get the point correct.

What led you to believe GLA would be getting new routes from his posts?

Nothing… i’ve took what i’m seeing on here + seen he was making announcements about new routes = daring to hope GLA would appear.

They did not!

However i’m remaining positive as is the vibe of his latest post… unlike on here.

An interesting observation from tartan 201 on PPRuNe . . . .

I wonder if this might be a technical glitch.

FR changed many of their PIK flight numbers at the start of the current winter schedule. For example, PIK-ACE was FR6153, but became FR7820 at the start of the current winter schedule. The FR app shows PIK-ACE this coming summer as FR6153 but sold out. However, you can book PIK-ACE for November 23 already and it shows the current flight number FR7820.

So I wonder if their timetable system thinks that FR6153 is the operating flight in the coming summer, but can't find it in thier sales system (since it should be FR7820) and so displays it as sold out. Similarly, you can book TFS for next winter with the current flight number (7816) but not for this coming summer, which shows the old flight number (653).

Normal practice (we are talking RYR here so normal is a stretch) is for full service carriers to have real schedules no more that 330 days out, LCC tend to be a bit less than that. Anything beyond that are simply bookable placeholders. Been caught too many times booking a "perfect" departure time to have it moved to something unacceptable because the "schedule changed".

I'm a bit late to the party on this thread. What's prompted the expansion hopes and dreams? Ta much.
