So if the airports are interchangeable for pax, GLA has no real chance. Obviously pax will flood to EDI where the flights are cheap as chips and as numerous as heck. Now we are getting to why GLA bosses are in a difficult situation. I remember saabdriver told us this is why GLA can’t even operate a flight to Scandinavia. Another thread goes back full circle to AGS's failures since acquiring the three airports for a ridiculous sum of money
I'm afraid we have to accept that GLA's route offerings will remain broadly as is assuming the inbound market to Scotland doesn't expand significantly
GLA handled 209,000 international passengers in November 2022 - EDI handled 566,000 . . . . the traffic from/to only three countries (Irish Republic, Spain including Canaries and France) through EDI exceeded the total international traffic through GLA

I agree. Only securing a Ryanair base will bring strong growth of both pax numbers and destination portfolio. I’ve been saying that like a broken record since they left and took a million pax with them. I also said it for years before they came and was proven correct at the time.
easyJet are relatively good compared to years ago but with much of our market perfectly happy to use EDI as their departure point, easyJet will continue to only tinker at the edges at GLA. If GLA is in the wrong place, as we were assured the other day, then that’s a fact of life in which GLA bosses have to operate.

I would say that as long as they continue to use PIK there is zero chance of a Glasgow operation which is hugely frustrating.

Was in the terminal briefly tonight and could see that EZY have changed their check-in layout at GLA. They now appear to have 8 machines rather than 4.
