FR S23 Expansion?

Guaranteed PIK routes imho. Unfortunately, PIK is Glasgow for FR, seems it always will be.

I can see some additions.

FR's network at EDI and throughout the UK is at saturation point so in terms of strangling every last inch of growth I am not surprised they would consider coming back when looking for ways to grow. GLA I think is the only top 10 airport without a FR base. The other thing is they've always been one to try and combat their competitors and the vast majority of people are going to find it easier to fly from GLA on Jet 2, TUI, Easyjet than go down to Prestwick. GLA to the Med should be easy money for Ryanair but the fact they'd rather throw darts at secondary airports in Europe from EDI says it all about the incompetence of the people who run GLA.

In terms of routes I expect something similar to when they initially opened up in 2014. I'll say Bournemouth, Belfast, one of Cork/Shannon and maybe a couple in mainland Europe. Bergamo I could see, maybe one or two out east like Riga or Gdansk. I suspect most sun routes will stay out at PIK (contradicting what I said above), but even that is a skeleton operation these days with all the reductions there. I'd be surprised if we see multiple aircraft being based and they're just as likely in 3/4 years to bugger off.

Greggs opening up and a Ryanair base coming back. Thats success for the airport these days after Provan ran the place into the ground over the last 5 years.

Ryanair, the UK’s no.1 airline, today (16 Feb) announced its Summer 2023 schedule from Glasgow and Prestwick Airports, incl. 2 new routes from Prestwick to Marseilles and Pisa starting from Apr 2023 and increased frequencies on its ever-popular Glasgow to Dublin route.

There we go, increased frequency to Dublin. Good lord.

I dont question the hope of m,embers wanting a Ryanair upsurge.
I do question the reasoning behind it.
As its probably one of the few things that could be transformatory to fortunes, it certainly doesnt make it likely.
I will be the first to shout whooppee when and if it happens.
