Canadian airline WestJet has announced it has scrapped some of its flights to Glasgow.

The airline’s transatlantic flights between Halifax and Europe have been temporarily suspended for summer 2023 which includes flights from the Nova Scotian capital to Glasgow.
Opening sentences both incorrect, excellent article

The only way I see any TATL carriers coming back is if like FR with the UK growth becomes strangled and they need to find new ways to increase margins, but even then it'll always be vulnerable.

Its scandalous that GLA doesn't even have a summer seasonal to NYC and you have the likes of ATL running daily out of EDI. Its been clear though after five years that Provan was clueless and the AGS strategy is to make money by spending as little as possible.

Success for 2023 will be getting a Ryanair base back.

When the owner's portfolio alongside GLA is two small stagnating regional airports, it tells you all you need to know...

Sadly Ferrovial don't seem to know much about GLA . . . .
8.8m passengers and 'Glasgow is the second busiest airport in Scotland after Edinburgh and is the largest for long-haul flights, connecting Scotland with Asia and the North Atlantic.'

That was before they took over and drove it into the ground.

Personally, I dont think the Management or owners drove GLA into the ground. Ive yet to be part of ; or worked with a Management team who over a coffee state, " lets screw this up"
Thats not real life.
I think you need to look primarily 40 miles East, and to a lesser extent 35 miles south west to appreciate the paltry offerings available.
Im a broken record on this. To me its as clear as day. 25 million customers available ( normally).
When I was but a lad, playing football in the park. " next goals the winner".
We have a winner. It aint us.

Quite agree. There’s a lot of crazy talk and not a lot of realism. The airlines want Turnhoose. That’s 95% of the answer in 4 words.
