Re: Edinburgh
Until Emirates return to double daily, then the QR and TK services at EDI will continue to impact the EK service.
Re: Edinburgh
And even then people will want to say it’s a problem for GLA. Thankfully Emirates seem to have some faith in the GLA market.

Re: Edinburgh
Of course it impacts Emirates. Your average Scottish punter travelling to Oz/Far East is likely to go where the fares are lower and QR are providing that option for the Scottish market ex EDI. They couldn’t give a hoot that EK will have the A380 at GLA.

Bingo. There you go Hads.
Don’t forget folks - competition only goes one way.[1]

Re: Edinburgh
Most people I know from the GLA conurbation have little choice but to use EDI these days. Fact.Clive wrote: ↑Wed Feb 22, 2023 4:29 pmBingo. There you go Hads.

Re: Edinburgh
QRtwice daily from EDI! Don’t say I didn’t tell you last November: ten weekly then double daily.
The loads are not reliant on solely outbound traffic- there is plenty in the way of inbound traffic and this will release many more seats for the Indian sub continent which has been constrained by loads for OZ, NZ and SAfrica. This also takes into account China opening up again to provide additional connectivity as well as other Asian countries.
Looks like it’s going to be a very, very busy summer - and long shifts!

We may have the A380 back but we are still well below 2019 capacity for both seats and cargo. The ME relies heavily on connections and EDI has the upper hand here.
Yes we know. That’ll be because everyone egpffqtv knows prefers to fly from EDI.
