Speaking to friends whose daughter and family took an Easter break in Tenerife expecting them to go from EDI as they stay in Broughty Ferry, no! They flew from PIK as the prices were unmatchable.

Passed PIK earlier today… Looked like a Parking Lot for heavy US Cargo units (I don’t know what type [high tail fins]) … Lost count of how many.

USAF C-17’s which pass through all the tine but apparently there’s loads just now staging through from an exercise in Germany.

In the early hours this morning there were (USAF) 12 C-17As, 2 C-130Js & 2 KC-135s as well as (RCAF) 2 CC-130Js, 1 CC-150 & 1 CC-177 on the airfield with the 18-off westbound Warthogs arriving later in the day

Absolutely, and not just into the airport coffers but surrounding economy (accommodation, restaurants, hire cars/vans, hire portacabins etc)
