Flying in today’s world

Well, touch wood, all is okay and since August have completed ten sectors on domestic and European flights with no issues or worries at all.

Everything is very well disciplined with check in and boarding strictly controlled and greeted with a personal pack containing hand sanitiser and cleansing towel. Disembarkation is also completed strictly by rows, as is the boarding process with the only exception being passengers requiring additional assistance.

Catering and drinks were served, or there was the option to buy from cabin staff.

No rowdy behaviour, early departures and arrivals due to lack of traffic, the only thing missing is a full complement of passengers which leaves the airport terminals as ghostly echoes of what once was a busy, thriving environment.

It’s not flying as we were used to but certainly nothing to be afraid of.

So, if anyone is wondering, should I, could I, if your health, wealth and entry conditions permit go for it and help keep Britain flying. Because without YOU there is zilch industry left.

This, Sir, is a very astute comment.
Simply because it prompts the follow-up questions of; "who is giving her this exposure, and why ?"

Here is an interesting video clip from Sky News Australia that I came across. Just for information, I don't want it to lead up to a big discussion.
You may well write it off as conspiracy theory, but I always remember the quote about the best lies being those that contain a 'smidgeon' of the truth.
I'm posting it because it makes a ( small ) reference to the airline industry, and is therefore relevant to the overall discussion. It's a 10min clip.

Well, that is what we are being told, but when I join up the dots it takes me to a different conclusion. I see these issues as being related.
This "Killer respiratory disease" is not living up to its promise. Too few people are dying to warrant the drastic measures that are being taken.
So why are these actions being taken ?
Latest figures from the Center for Disease Control ( the CDC ) in the USA puts the case fatality rate at 0.14%.
As a reference point, the annual Influenza CFR is about 0.1% on average.

But getting back to my point, I'm sure you must agree that the demise of air travel, and the loss of all the jobs that it entails, is an outcome that will be celebrated by a certain young eco-activist. She can chalk up a victory, and the Airline industry has taken a severe loss.

Ryanair and Easyjet appear to be banking on weathering the storm in the hope of a brighter future, but the legacy carriers are all downsizing drastically for a future of much, much less air travel.
With so many people now frightened to leave their own house, too scared to get on a bus never mind get on a plane, it really is Game Over for the whole travel industry.

yep .there are people hovering over computers in russia and other places wanting us to believe this....the disease has killed over a million people and unlike the flu does not disappear for half the year
