Flybe

News that CEO appointed.

Any thoughts on whether if this does get off the ground, GLA would see operations?

My honest thoughts on the new Flybe is it will fail. Loganair and easyJet have swallowed up the UK Domestic market. They would need to in my opinion launch flights from regional airports in the UK to smaller international markets e.g. Glasgow to Norway if they want to have a chance.

Assets and Brand bought for a £1. Preferential creditors on a list that will be looked at in 2024. The go ahead given on the basis that previous creditors would be given considertain in due course. Current bill for that sitting (low) £550 m and (high) £660m.
Two observations. Creditors wont get a snotter.
Venture Capital behind it so every pound will be sweated to Hell and back.
Im not getting fluffy clouds and Bunny rabbits with this.

Preferential Creditors from Flybe 1 wouldn't happen to include the venture capitalists who took a massive loss when they invested alongside VS in Flybe would it?

If so, that's the same venture capitalists who are behind Flybe 2. Almost as if they're doing this to recoup some of the losses they incurred when Flybe 1 went bust via being a preferrential creditor.

Looks like Flybe will be releasing routes next week and announced formally that Belfast City was second base.

Up to 7 daily flights in total. That seems quite good for GLA considering we’re always the bridesmaid and never the bride.

Yes, not too bad really. They don't appear to have announced an early morning northbound for BHX, which I think they'll really need to compete with EZY, but maybe that will come in time.

I think it's also interesting but they appear to have chosen to use the LHR slots to fly to LBA, BHD and AMS instead of restarting EDI-LHR - That perhaps demonstrates that EDI is not the unending fountain of pax and profits that we sometimes think it is!
