I know PIK has it's detractors but you can't beat it for variety of aircraft movements.

In the last 2 days, a couple of shortish visits revealed the following:

Big stuff C17, C130H, C130J, P8, A332, A320, B738, A321N, B762

Wee stuff PC12, TBM960

Biz CL350, Gulfstream V

Heligowobblies AW189, AW109

And the star... 51 year old HU-16B Albatross

Apologies wee typo. The Albat first flew in 1951 so it's 73 years old.

That's great news for the airport and local employment. PIK should be doing so much more of this type of business, ditch the terminal, and make some money.

Profitable to who though? FR? Weatherspoons? Mrs.Miggins's cake shop? My point being that they could make so much more from other types of business, such as what was posted previously and a whole lot more. If they do turn a profit with pax,I doubt it could be that much.

I’ve said it for years. Engineering/maintenance, cargo and a paint shop. If EMA and EXT can manage it and make a success of this then why can’t PIK.

EXT and EMA both have their passenger operations.
