ATC issues in the East, diversions so far U2601, EI3256, LM315, LM343, U2809, and BA1462.

Due to to an IT issue with Air Traffic Control no flights are currently taking off or landing. Engineers are working to resolve the issue.
Passengers should check their flight status with their airline before travelling to the airport.
An update will be provided at 16.30pm.
Is this EDI specific or nationwide?
Hope it’s not the latter and as disastrous as the August 2023 Bank Holiday NATS IT debacle which lasted for days.

It’s EDI specific. That’s why flights are landing at GLA.

Thanks for the sarcastic reply Mr. Co-mod.
I guess GLA will look like a busy airport for once in that case
Then the poor handling agents will probably be given pelters later this evening for being inadequately staffed to handle said diversions and procure transportation to EDI at such short notice.
You couldn’t make it up.
I’m away for my dinner.

Thanks Bearsden.
Would hate to be staff at EDI, crew, staff on EDI bound flights or staff at diversion airports. They’re in for a tough evening.

Humble Pie per chance?
I honestly was baffled when you asked if it was nationwide ATC meaning they couldn’t land or take off at EDI but could at GLA.
Anyway, enjoy your meal.

Well a non-movement really - ATR76 G-CMMK operating this morning's inbound Cork diverted to EDI due to the strong crosswinds
It has suffered a nosewheel collapse at Belfast City operating the empty positioning flight this afternoon

I think it’s pretty generous calling it a nose gear collapse on landing , as most of the media are. From the photos it looks more like it crashed nose first into the ground. Tea and biscuits, without the biscuits.
