International Pier - Airbridges
International Pier - Airbridges
Rumour elsewhere that the air bridges on the international pier apart from Stand 30 are all out of use due to deferred maintenance.
Certainly none of the airbridges on the West side of the pier are operational.

Re: International Pier - Airbridges
Yes, only stand 30 has a working air bridge, I’m told.

Re: International Pier - Airbridges
I guess airbridges aren't as important as they used to be, given a number of airlines aren't particular interested in using/paying to use them. Nevertheless I think we need more than one functioning one.

Re: International Pier - Airbridges
In a cold and wet city this is absolutely ridiculous.
Re: International Pier - Airbridges
Only working jet bridges on international are 30 and 34/35. 33 was operational until the other week when something happened to it during the high winds rendering it inop. 29 is currently in the process of getting new tires installed so hopefully be back soon

Just when you think AGS cannot get any worse.
Re: International Pier - Airbridges
Air Bridge 32 is being completely swapped out sometime this year as its beyond repair. Air Bridge 33 is the next bridge to be swapped out hopefully late this year early next. Air Jetty 27, 28 & 29 are having tyre issues, and the tyres we received I understand did not meet the quality we expected and were returned to the supplier, hence the lengthy outage. Air Bridge 23 another longtime outage has been fixed and I understand training is required for staff before it can be put back into service.
Re: International Pier - Airbridges
Iain for information we do not charge for the use of Air Jetty service. Its basically the airline/handling agent decision to use or not on the day.
Re: International Pier - Airbridges
That's interesting, thanks for clarifying that. Is that the case at most airports?
Either way, I've generally got the impression that some airlines such as FR are unkeen on the use of airbridges?
