Flixbus are expanding all over the place so I thought I’d write to them with a route suggestion. Sadly I couldn’t find anyway to contact them. Maybe someone else can?
I think they should look at adding a regular coach service that routes Edinburgh-Glasgow-Glasgow Airport-Glasgow-Edinburgh multiple times a day.
It could be a non-stop express between the two city centres, maybe alighting at a key bus stop on the street near the railway stations rather than using the bus station, and continuing on to GLA, with or without a quick stop at Braehead.
Linking the two city centres, even though it’s in competition with other busses and trains, would guarantee high demand while the airport leg solves GLA’s big problem of no transport link to the city of Edinburgh.

Re: Flixbus
They already run a half-hourly service (090) between the two cities. Is your proposal in addition to or an extension of that service?Clive wrote: ↑Sun Mar 16, 2025 8:39 am Flixbus are expanding all over the place so I thought I’d write to them with a route suggestion. Re: Flixbus
Flixbus is a franchise brand, in Scotland the prime operator is McGill's, and the vehicles are based at Inchinnan Depot, so nice and handy.Clive wrote: ↑Sun Mar 16, 2025 8:39 am Flixbus are expanding all over the place so I thought I’d write to them with a route suggestion. Re: Flixbus
You can buy through tickets on Flixbus website from GLA to Edinburgh Bus station using the 500 service. One way fare for next week seems to be £15 one way for most trips.
Re: Flixbus
Just need to rejig the timetable so there’s no change of vehicle at Buchanan St. It doesn’t sound impossible.

Re: Flixbus
Unfortunately it's 2 different operators, so a vehicle change is necessary. At least the wait is a maximum of 30 minutes, so should be time to fit in a coffee in Greggs.
