You could be right. Faster hearing John Holland-Kaye in yesterday’s news talking about LHR losses BA schedules could all be accommodated from LHR given reductions in frequency, less domestic business travel, less VFR, leisure travel etc, etc.

That then puts into question the 200MAX order, 777s, and Airbus 319-350.

So are BA closing their LGW base or are they not?

Not guessing, just reading the runes. Given a reduced schedule and fleet to match BA could easily accommodate its entire operation at LHR. Fortress Oneworld; like CDG and AMS are fortress Skyteam and FRA is fortress Star Alliance.

Others can be sent to LGW if business picks up. Shades of the late 79s/80s.

Listening to today’s business news it is grim out there. More job losses, closures, restructuring. Unless there is a sensible workable balance achieved for health/wealth there will be little or no private sector left to fund the growing public sector.

BA engineering staff and GLA airfield operations were moving a lot of A321s around today to allow short engine run-ups

It would appear that there will be more of the same tomorrow

The OP of the below thread on Flyertalk is well connected to the going’s on at BA. They are suggesting that the GLA lounge will not reopen till Q2 of 2021.

Not guessing, just feeding on some tidbits from a mate who's just had his job saved at BA.
4 x 380,4 x 777 and 30 x 320 family (LGW fleet) all being parked up long term
