If there was ever a photograph to sum up our situation today, then this is it.

Those Storm clouds in the background will soon be upon us. Are we prepared for what is to come ?
What is behind those clouds is magnificent sunshine … Glass 1/2 full and getting fuller… Agreed, magnificent photograph.

What was behind the photographer was also magnificent sunshine. So my proverbial (Leica) glass was 2/3rds full. Cloudy skies by means of meteorology or metaphor have always been associated with GLA, however.

Hopefully the change in regulations means some increase in Oz traffic on the flights.

Emirates have confirmed they will be flying daily in Nov and Dec from GLA to DXB.

Plus from Oct 30 to 14th Nov they will also move to 9 weekly flights by adding 2 evening flights each week, this is to support demand for COP but also supports leisure travel during this period.

Busy enough for an A380 or two I wonder ?

Probably return in a few years tbh
The arabs are very shrewd businessmen, if a route isn't paying, they cut it, never in 20 years of following aviation have I ever known Emirates to reinstate a route, their maybe a handful but they certainly won't bowdown to an upstart, who in his words, chased them for 10 years to get the route, if it takes you that long to get a route from them, clearly it was given to you to get rid of you and shut you up and your gamble failed #next
According to a post on PPRuNE, the source of which appears to be the ACL slot report (link below), EK have slots to reinstate the EDI service in W22 (it's not on sale, so can't see it happening for the start of the W22 season).

It's been on there for a while, surprised they have only just noticed it now

Are EK using the low density 77Ws with F class to GLA at the moment? June's figures worked out for me at about 330 pax ewpd, so if they're using the aircraft with about 350 seats that's a very high load factor and will probably in practice mean a lot of flights are full.

I do find it slightly concerning that there's no sign of EK upguaging given the pax numbers we're seeing. Having blown millions on a fancy airbridge etc and bent over backwards repeatedly for EK the last thing GLA needs is half the EK business to be poached eastwards.

The route that would appear to not be so busy is NCL. Iirc there were claims a few months ago that EK have slots at NCL for 2x daily - That's surely not going to happen and it perhaps illustrates that what EK have slots for isn't necessarily what's going to operate.

I wonder if EK might drop NCL and start EDI instead.... ;)
