I'm going to email the new CEO. I don't expect a response, as he’s undoubtedly busy turning this sleeping giant around, but his marketing team seems to be working against him and the airport rather than supporting them.

Glad to see that today they have finally (and quite professionally) posted content to LinkedIn, Twitter & Facebook that is relevant to the running of the airport.

Glasgow Airport security works update![]()
We are undertaking a multi-million pound investment in our security hall and are in the process of installing state-of-the-art Next Generation Security Checkpoint (NGSC) scanners.
The installation of the NGSC scanners represents the biggest-ever upgrade to the airport’s security process. Once fully operational, these scanners will allow passengers to keep electronic devices, such as laptops, in their hand baggage during screening, significantly improving the passenger experience.
We aim to complete the installation works by the end of April, and until then, normal security procedures will remain in place.
As with any major project, there is the possibility of some disruption, and passengers may have to wait longer than usual. It is for this reason we are asking passengers to allow additional time for their journey through the airport.
We would like to thank you for your patience as we work to deliver this major upgrade.
Re: GLA and social media
Looks like someone who works at the airport isn’t impressed with the numpty, judging by his comments on their recent Facebook post
https://fb.watch/y1zFoJpcOv/?Yeah it was. But no mention of him or the rest of the guys.
The whole thing is a patronising embarrassment
Re: GLA and social media
Another well thought out and engaging post. Brilliant.

Re: GLA and social media
Not really it highlights the airline, I don't think the general public give a flying f about the use of aircraft that's been scrapped, certain individuals on here seem to enjoy ripping the social media apart for absolutely no reasonhelensburghexile wrote: ↑Sat Mar 08, 2025 9:46 amIs that really a blunder?Bearsden wrote: ↑Fri Mar 07, 2025 7:58 pm Another blunder today

While I agree that posting a picture of a scrapped aircraft isn’t a blunder and isn’t something to hold against the social media and marketing team, that doesn’t mean they should be absolved of their numerous past mistakes.awwdabaaby wrote: ↑Sat Mar 08, 2025 9:55 am Not really it highlights the airline, I don't think the general public give a flying f about the use of aircraft that's been scrapped, certain individuals on here seem to enjoy ripping the social media apart for absolutely no reason
Your comment, "certain individuals on here seem to enjoy ripping the social media apart for absolutely no reason," suggests you disagree. So, what exactly do you think the social media team is doing well? Are you referring to the posts with zero likes, zero comments, and zero engagement? Perhaps it's the copy-and-paste job promoting new routes from Glasgow East Airport on Glasgow Airport's official Twitter and website? Or maybe it's the casual, unprofessional tone, referring to customers as "troops" that you find appealing?
Genuinely curious to hear your defense of the Glasgow Airport marketing team, so I eagerly await your response.
